HKOCPre-Season Ranking Events 2009 (HKOCRanking)
Target Participants: HKOC Memberships
(Others can take part as Guest Runners,
results only not for ranking)
Classes: 6 classes of 3 courses from difficult to easy will be arranged as follows:
MA WA: For orienteers with very much experience on Open Orienteering Events
MB WB For orienteers with experience on Open Orienteering Events,
suitable for those aged18 or below
MC WC: Suitable for those without any experience of orienteering and
aged 12 or below
Remarks: M=Male W=Female
Course A about 5km,
Course B about 3km,
Course C shorter than 2km
Ranking: To be calculated by Accumulation ranking scores of the best 3 events
out of the 5 ranking events per runner.
1000 points will be awarded to the Winner while scores of other runners
will be calculated by using the formula below:
1000 points x Runner's Time Used / Winner’s Time Used
Awards: The Best 3 of Each Ranking Class
Entry Fee: HK$20 for Junior Members (Membership No. with Prefix “J” or
aged below 18)
HK$40 for other HKOC Members
HK$50 for Guest Runner
HK$10 Rebate will be offered to the Chinahealth Card (Electronic Control Card) owner
(Browse the Personal CH Card Scheme if you wish to order CH-Card)
(The orange Cards will lend to the borrower to recognize easily)
All fees in cash (or Bank-in Slip) can be paid at event day.
Payment in advance are welcome for save times.

Registration: No Entry Form Required.
Please make entry by email with the following information required:
HKOC Membership Number,
Name,
Contact Tel. Number,
Class,
Self-Own CH-Card Number (or ask for Rental/Sale of Ch-Card),
and the Total Amount (Entry Fee/CH-Card Rental/CH-Card Selling Price)
(Parent's Name and Urgent Contact Number are also required
for those participants aged below 18)

(Entry sent by Fax or post would be accepted for special case)
Note: Please provide the parents' names and contact numbers ASAP or before start for the participants aged under 18.

Race 1 Yuen Tun, Saturday, June 20, 2009
Race 2 Cheung Chau, Sunday, July 12, 2009 (Deadline: July 5)
Race 3 Lamma Island, Sunday, August 16, 2009 (Deadline: August 9)
Race 4 Ngau Liu, September 20, 2009 (postponed) (Deadline: September 13)
Race 5:Braemar Hill, Sunday, October 1, 2009 (postponed) (Deadline: September 27)
Time: 14:00 - 18:00 hours (Latest Start: 16:00)
Notes:
1. No Event Information will be issued for HKOCRanking events;
browse the HKOC Forum for the latest event news;
2. Start Time will be selected by participants on first come first served basis;
3. No water points will be arranged for every event,
the participants is highly recommended to bring sufficient water for the competition;
4. For safety concerned, All on-site registered participants must report to the finish official;
bring sufficient water, clothing, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain gear and
mosquito-repellent, etc.
5. Help your self and other participants during the procedure from registration, start,
printing of result slip, return the CH-Card on loan;
6. The membership renewal forms and application forms will be collected on behalf of HKOC.
The membership will be temporarily recognized for the new application of membership.
7. If there are any warning of thunderstorm signal, yellow rainstorm signal or
above, Number 3 typhoon or above after 12:00 noon on the event day, the event will be
cancelled. The decision for the cancellation or postponement of the event
will be announced at the HKOC Forum.
